Pretty soon they might have to change the Nationwide Series to the Gibbs Racing Series as Denny Hamlin gave Joe Gibbs Racing there ninth victory in the Nationwide Series as Denny Hamlin took the checkered flag at Dover. It seems as long as you have a car equipped by Joe Gibbs Racing in the Nationwide Series you have a great chance of winning.
The other big story of the day was budding superstar Joey Logano who has been compared to a lot of different drivers. He finished sixth as the 18 year old driver took everything in stride at his first Nationwide race. He was hoping for a top five finish, but I am sure he is happy with his finish in his first race.

Drug testing in Nascar is something right now that is a very hot subject and according to Nascar they have things in place to make sure they do not have a problem. Now that is real assuring , but in reality I doubt how effective it really is. Many drivers have been busted and Nascar really does not come forward with a lot of names or how bad the problem really is. This makes me wonder how bad it really is.
If you ask the drivers they are pretty much mumm about it as they know it really is a problem, but will not openly discuss it. They have their reasons for not talking and I guess I can respect that. I think drug problems are on the rise as injuries that drivers have do not heal quickly and drugs are the natural source for pain relief. I guess one day we will finally find out if there is a drug problem or not.

Greg Biffle took the pole at Dover and Kurt Busch was second while Kyle Busch was third. Biffle who has been working on a new deal to stay with Roush Racing is very close to getting it done. Biffle has not had the greatest season so far, but he is improving and that is the key if you want to get into the Championship.
Meanwhile last week after the Coca-Cola 600 Kyle Busch and Jeff Gordon got into after the race with both trading barbs at each other. Everything has been patched up right now, but I would watch this as the season goes on this could be very interesting indeed. Kevin Harvick put his two cents in like he always does and of course Busch told him to butt out. Isn’t Nascar racing just great lol!

Nascar officials made a statement by docking Scott Riggs and Johnny Sauter 150 championship points each and their crew chiefs have been suspended for the next six weeks due to violations on the wing mounts this past weekend at Lowe’s Motor Speedway. This is a bigger penalty than what Dale Earnhardt Jr received which was the biggest to date.
What is ironic about this whole infraction is another team turn these teams in for the infraction. Most of the time you really do not hear about other teams ratting someone out, but that was the case here. It could have to do with points position and making the race. With this penalty this means both teams make a freefall in points and it gives other teams a chance to make some races. Probably the teams that turn them in for the infractions.

Tony Stewart for the second time this year had his sight sets on a win only to have some bad luck do him in. With a little over five laps to go Tony Stewart either ran over some debris or had a slow leak in his tire as Kasey Kahne was able to pass him and take another victory at Lowes Motor Speedway.
First Kahne won the All-Star race and now he he has won the Coca-Cola 600 as well. You can say Kahne was in the right place at the right time, but the bottom line is he won and that is all that really matters if you ask him. Stewart dodged the press and went into his trailer and let his crew chief answer questions. Stewart was not very happy with what happen and I cannot blame him.

Kyle Busch just continues to make the right calls and last night he made another one as he did not pit and was able to stretch gas mileage and tires to win the Nationwide Series race at Lowe’s Motor Speedway. Many people know Busch can drive the hell out of a race car, but he proved last night he can also save his equipment as well. Busch has also been getting great cars from Joe Gibbs Racing which also has a lot to do with his winning this year.
Denny Hamlin and Brad Keselowski got into it on the track and after the race their respected pit crews also got into it. This just shows you that everybody wants to win and the tensions can run very high. I am sure some nice fines will be handed out by Nascar officials. They do not like things like this happening especially on National Television.

Kyle Busch so far this season without a doubt has been the hottest driver and yesterday he did nothing to tarnish that as he went out and took the Coca-Cola 600 pole beating out Kasey Kahne who will start second. Busch put up a lap of 185.433 in his no.18 Toyota while runner-up Kahne put up a time of 185.300. Both of these drivers right now are running well.
Brian Vickers will start third while Greg Biffle rolls off in the number four spot. David Regan grabbed fifth and Dale Earnhardt Jr will roll out of the gates in sixth spot. Right now Kyle Busch is on a role and it seems whatever he is doing is perfect as he is always near the top or grabbing poles. I do not know if he can keep it up all year long, but right now it will be very interesting to see if he can.

I have to give Kevin Harvick credit for taking the lead in drug testing since it seems that Nascar really does not want to tackle this problem head on. Harvick has had his team tested along with pit crew members so he knows and the world knows he runs a good clean team. You have to congratulate Harvick for stepping forward and taking the lead. Maybe this will put some pressure on Nascar.
The real question I have is if Kevin Harvick felt this was needed than I think this problem is much deeper than anyone wants to admit too. Drivers just do not step up and do this unless they have really seen a problem and apparently it is. I think the drug problem goes much deeper than Nascar wants to admit. I guess we will see what happens to the rest of the teams and see if they take Harvick’s lead or stand pat.

After a third place finish at the All-Star Challenge it looks like Matt Kenseth is poised for a run for the chase. Kenseth has pretty much been real quiet this season as some races he has been good other races he would like to forget. The one thing that has killed his team is not being consistent.
When you race at this level you need to be more consistent if you want to be a guy who runs for championships. The teams that are consistent week in and week out always seem to run at the top. Kenseth needs to find that and he should be fine. In Nascar though it is a very fine line from being almost there and there. No matter what he will never give up and the one thing you can say about Matt Kenseth is once he gets behind the wheel he gives you everything he’s got. You really cannot ask for anymore than that.

Kasey Kahne was voted into the All-Star race as the fans gave him an opportunity to show everyone what he could do. He took his opportunity and now is one million dollars richer. Kahne in the last segment decided to gamble and not take tires which paid off as he held off Greg Biffle to grab the win.
In looked early in the All-Star race that Kyle Busch was the car to beat but he had car trouble and then Junior stepped up along with Greg Biffle and Carl Edwards, but in the end it was Kahne. You never really like to get your way into a race like this Kahne did, but having the fans vote you in makes it that much sweeter as well. Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon were two drivers many thought had a great chance were not that good all night long. It will be interesting to see what happens in the Coca-Cola 600 in a week.
