Dario Franchitti qualified sixth in his first official business as a stock car driver. Franchitti will make his debut this Friday at Talladega Superspeedway at the ARCA RE/MAX250. Franchitti signed a multi-year deal with Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates.

Scott Speed another open wheel driver who will be racing the ARCA series qualified seventh at 183.480. Speed was the only American in Formula one racing but lost his ride so now he is trying his hand at stock car racing to.  I guess we will see many more open wheel drivers before to long it seems. The money is here and the lure of television and big time mass appeal is something all drivers love.
