Dale Jr Starts Fast With Bud Shootout Win

If there was any questions about Dale Earnhardt Jr and how he would do with his new team they were answered last night with a win at the Bud Shootout. Getting help from teammates Jimmie Johnson and others he took the checkered flag and lifted a big weight off his shoulders. It has been two years since he won a race and this meant a lot to him.

Tony Stewart showed besides throwing punches he can also drive with the best of them. If there was any doubt that the Toyota will be a player this year Stewart had his up in contention most of the night. Tony’s main problem was battling against Hendrick cars with no help. It’s a battle that is very tough to win alone.

Bud Shootout? Up In the Air

After 2008 the Bud Shootout will be up in the air for a number of reasons. first of all the primary sponsor of it is Budweiser and their contract runs through 2008 and Nascar has signed a deal with Coors Light to be the Official Beer Of Nascar.

This means the Bud Shootout could be sponsored by Coors Light in 2009 or something maybe worked out. It’s hard to say and it will be awhile before anyone really has an answer. It seems Nascar is always changing sponsors anymore so this is just a fact of life and things are going to continue to change.
