This could be a very interesting start to the season when they drop the flag at the Daytona 500. Many storylines will jump at us right away. One of the first is will Jimmie Johnson three peat or will another Hendrick driver step up and take it away from him. With Jeff Gordon and Dale Earnhardt Jr as teammates Johnson will have plenty of pressure put on him.
As for the others who are the guys who could in the end dethrone Jimmie Johnson. I like Jeff Burton who has been doing well lately and he is a guy to watch. Don’t count out Tony Stewart, Matt Kenseth, Carl Edwards, Clint Bowyer, Ryan Newman, Kurt Busch or about 10 others. As you can see so many drivers really do have a shot and this is the mass appeal of Nascar. Can’t wait until we get this season going. It promises to be a very wild ride indeed.

Morgan-McClure Motorsports has closed up their racing shop this past Friday after no sponsor could be found. After 25 years of race one of the more recognized people in the sport are gone. It’s a shame as in recent years they have really struggle to hit on anything good. When they were sponsored by Kodak some good things happen while Sterling Marlin was behind the wheel.
After marlin left though it seem things went downhill and they never could really recover. Hopefully a sponsor will come through and they can run Daytona but don’t look for that to happen at all. After 25 years Morgan-McClure has probably raced their last time. It’s a shame.

Well when monday gets here testing at Daytona will start which ushers in another fast paced Nascar season. Are you ready? This year many questions will be asked and answered as well. Can Jimmie Johnson keep his roll going? Will Tony Stewart have fun in the new Toyota’s? Can Dale Jr recapture the magic he had? How about Jeff Gordon?
Will someone who we never expect emerge to shock people? These are all questions that will be answer. We also will be losing another great driver as Dale Jarrett will be running a limited schedule and will be missed by fans everywhere. He is a great guy and driver and has been class his whole career.
