This Have Sure Changed In Nascar

Way back when Nascar drivers used to race for 10 dollars and a 12 pack of beer, now they have million dollar contracts and motor homes and jets to go from city to city. This is how big Nascar has become and continues to be. Most people never realize how little some of the earliest drivers got paid, but they did it because they loved to drive. Some of these drivers no one will ever remember but they help shape the sport of today.

Drivers like Mark Martin, Bill Elliott, and Ricky Rudd understands what these drivers did for them and you could ask each one and they would tell you a different story about how they watched them as they grew up and turn their life into racing. More than not though these older drivers are forgotten and that is a shame. Were going to change that. We will start to profile some of these drivers right here so people can better see who paved the way for today’s drivers to make those million dollar contracts. it will be fun. Merry Christmas everyone!

Greg Biffle In 2008?

Greg Biffle had a rollercoaster year in 2007. He didn’t get the results his or his team were looking for. Biffle though isn’t someone to sit by and let things go. He is  man of action. 2008 should be a very different year for Greg Biffle. I see many good things coming from him.

It seems when a driver struggles one year they come back and have a great year. I look for Greg Biffle to do the very same thing. Biffle is one of the better Nascar drivers and should be at the top this coming year. Look for Biffle in 2008.

Cheating And Nascar

Cheating and Nascar seems to go hand and hand anymore.  Chad Knaus Jimmie Johnson crew chief was busted for it this past season and not a lot has been made of that. Others were also busted. My question is how deep does this really go. I think it goes a lot deeper than people want to admit.

In fact I don’t see it getting less in the future. I see more incidents of cheating. In fact I wonder how many never get caught.  I’ll bet the numbers are real high. Competition is so tough that it’s going to continue to happen.

Stories I’d Like To See IN 2008

The 2007 is done and gone but their are a lot of stories I would love to write about in 2008. I came up with some that would be great to report.

Seeing Petty Enterprise back in Victory Lane would be so cool. It’s been a very long time and that could be the greatest story of the year.

A theme of drivers coming back to Nextel Cup Racing.  Reporting on people like Steve Park, Mike Skinner and Ron Hornaday, Johnny Benson back in the big leagues would be another great story.

Junior winning a Nextel Cup Championship would also be great. He has had some tough times lately so he deserve a break for once.

In the end I’m sure 2008 will have plenty to talk about. Let’s go racing!!

Questions For 2008?

2008 should b a very interesting year for a number of different reasons. Let’s look over some of the big questions for 2008.

Will Dale Jr dominate in 2008? Will he finally get his championship?

Has Kyle Busch Found The Perfect home?

Will Penske Racing be dominate once again?

How will Indy drivers do this coming year?

All of these questions will be answered next year and beyond. It should be a very interesting year indeed. Oh by the way How many times will tony Stewart blow up? I couldn’t let him escape could I.

Where Does The Friendship End?

Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon have four races left to decide who is going to be the next Nextel Cup Champion. Both are best of friends and their friendship means a lot to each other. Just like anything else in life though it’s a business and when do you separate business from friendships.

Being a Nextel Cup Champion means a lot of prestige, money and other perks that drivers enjoy, but the best maybe being called a champion. Both drivers want it and in the end one is going have to decide how bad they want it and it could come down to them at the end. Friendships are great, but when your battling for a Championship I don’t know if you really have any friends.

Can Gordon Make IT Three In A Row

1b.jpg

Jeff Gordon looks to make it three in a row at Martinsville this weekend. Will he make it or take a hit in the points? I look for Gordon to have a tough time to make it three in a row. Martinsville is a tough track to stay out of trouble no matter how well your doing. It seems the harder you try to avoid trouble the more likely it finds you.

Gordon should try and finish the race and if he has an opportunity to finish first than go for it. If not than just ride around and protect the lead. As long as Gordon has a decent day he will be fine. Trouble starts when you try to much and get into trouble on the track.

Where Do Friendships End?

With Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson going for the big prize where does friendships end. Will one of the two give the other a nudge to win a championship or will there friendship survive through it all. These are very good questions and I would say there friendship will last through this. They are close on and off the track, but a championship after all is a championship.

Both drivers want to be called Nextel Cup CHampions so look for both to toss the friendship issue out the door when they wind down this season. It’s about winning and making sponsors happy. Friendship last a lifetime, but will this one. I think so.

Democratic Official Suggest Getting Shots Before Visiting Nascar Race

A Democratic official directed a staffer to send an email warning people to get shots before heading to Nascar races so they don’t catch something from Nascar fans. The repesentaive set it wasn’t meant in a mean way just a precautionary measure.

Meant no harm? You got to be kidding me. What official would say something like that? A person who doesn’t know anything about Nascar who just wants to bash the sport. I will tell you toss me in the crowd of Nascar fans anytime before you toss me in a room of congressman anyday. Nascar fans are the greatest and hopefully this congressman won’t get reelected if he has these kind of views.

Dale Jr Probably Happy To leave DEI

After another blown engine I’ll bet Dale Earnhardt Jr must be somewhat happy to leave and go somewhere where blown engines are very rare.  Not to many times does a Hendrick Motorsport engine let go and it seems every week their are issues with the DEI engines.

In fact you can blame engine failures for probably costing Junior a shot into the chase and Martin Truex Jr a shot at winning the chase. Until DEI clear these engine problems up more trouble is sure to follow them that is for sure.
