Drug Testing And Nascar

Drug testing in Nascar is something  right now that is a very hot subject and according to Nascar they have things in place to make sure they do not have a problem. Now that is real assuring , but in reality I doubt  how effective it really is. Many drivers have been busted and Nascar really does not come forward with a lot of names or how bad the problem really is. This makes me wonder how bad it really is.

If you ask the drivers they are pretty much mumm about it as they know it really is a problem, but will not openly discuss it. They have their reasons for not talking  and I guess I can respect that. I think drug problems are on the rise as injuries that drivers have do not heal quickly and drugs are the natural source for pain relief. I guess one day we will finally find out if there is a drug problem or not.

Chase Has Serious Problems Again

Now that the Chase has us basically down to three contenders I think some tweaking needs to be done to make this Chase look and act really like a chase. Nascar thought by adding twelve to the field it would make it better. It hasn’t it has just made it a runaway for the top three.

The point distribution is the biggest problem. You have to have the points equal there finishing order. In other words if you keep giving a guy in the chase who finishes 35th the 35th point number you will only have a few at the top. How about guys who are caught in a accident that isn’t his fault. We need a point system where your points are just based on the top 12 and you can’t earn anything less than a 12th spot no matter where you finish. This would tighten the points up and make more competition among chase contenders.

Clint Bowyer Starts With Win

78.jpg

Many people didn’t think Clint Bowyer really had much of a chance except maybe Bowyer. Well today Clint Bowyer decided it was time to proved he belonged and did by winning the first game of the Chase for the Cup. Bowyer who struggled off and on with his car led 221 of the 300 laps. I guess starting from the pole does have it’s advantages.

With the win Bowyer moved from 12th place all the way to 4th. Jimmy Johnson and Jeff Gordon is tied for the lead for the chase. It will be interesting to see how this Chase all ends up as you never know who will a race anymore. Look for this trend to continue all the way to the end.
