Kasey Kahne Grabs Another Win At Lowe’s Motor Speedway

Tony Stewart for the second time this year had his sight sets on a win only to have some bad luck do him in. With a little over five laps to go Tony Stewart either ran over some debris or had a slow leak in his tire as Kasey Kahne was able to pass him and take another victory at Lowes Motor Speedway.

First Kahne won the All-Star race and now he he has won the Coca-Cola 600 as well. You can say Kahne was in the right place at the right time, but the bottom line is he won and that is all that really matters if you ask him. Stewart dodged the press and went into his trailer and let his crew chief answer questions. Stewart was not very happy with what happen and I cannot blame him.

Make It Six in A Row For Joe Gibbs Racing As Tony Stewart Wins

Joe Gibbs racing seems to have a handle on the Nationwide series as Tony Stewart tamed the track that is said to tough to tame as he won the race at Darlington in the Nationwide Series Friday night. Stewart was able to avoid wrecks and a huge amount of cautions to grab his first win at the superspeedway. Clint Bowyer took second place while David Reutimann was third.

It seems that in the Nationwide series this year Toyota and Joe Gibbs know something that others have not found out yet. In the process they have been very good and by winning six in a row that should tell you something right there. Tony Stewart also praised Goodyear for bringing a very good tire to the race track. Yes, you read right he actually said good things about Goodyear.

Tony Stewart Gets Win At Talladega

Tony Stewart brushed away all the talk about him leaving Joe Gibbs Racing and he went on to edge Dale Earnhardt Jr his close friend to win the Nationwide Series race at Talladega. It was a big win because this was one race track that Stewart has not won at and now he finally has a win.

David Stremme finished second in the race, but Sewart and Earnhardt Jr had the best cars by far. Just 10 laps into the race Dario Franchitti was involved in a crash when his right rear tire blew and sending him into the wall. Franchitti then got hit by Larry Gunselman and Franchitti suffered a broken ankle and will miss the cup race today.

Tony Stewart Maybe Leaving Joe Gibbs Racing

Tony Stewart has a contract with Joe Gibbs racing through the 2009 season, but do not look for him to finish that out. Stewart might now wants out of his contract to drive for 2009 so he can go drive for Haas/CNC Racing which it is said that he will become part owner of the team. Stewart has always drove GM products and is not to happy that Joe Gibbs Racing has switched to Toyota.

If this rumor is all true this puts Joe Gibbs Racing in a bad spot. Do they let Tony go or do they hold him to his contract through 2009. Either way it will be an interesting decision that they will probably have to make at the end of the year. My personal opinion do not look for Stewart to drive for Joe Gibbs racing in 2009.

Jeff Burton Steals A Win!

It looked like Tony Stewart was poised for his first win of the Nascar season only to have Kevin Harvick bump him and send him out of the lead. Harvick’s teammate Jeff Burton quickly seized the opportunity and was able to win the race this week at Bristol. It was not a surprise that Stewart was not that upset about it as him and Harvick are close friends and Stewart sometimes drives for him in the Nationwide Series.

The real story was Dale Jarrett as it was his last points race of the season and he will be missed. He finished at the back of the pack, but he still will go down as one of the best for all he accomplished on the track. We will miss you Dale Jarrett.

Tony Stewart Rant Not Well Timed, But Honest

Many people have a take on Tony Stewart’s rant about the tires that Goodyear brought to Atlanta and Tony Stewart made everyone know how he felt about it. You really cannot blame Stewart one bit as he is the one driving on the times. Yes, he might have picked a bad spot to do it, but the bottom line is he was honest and held back no punches.

If more drivers would be honest and tell the truth than maybe Goodyear would start listening to what is wrong with the tires they are bringing. Most people will not rock the boat, but with no Tony Stewart he does not mind capsizing the boat if needed.

Kyle Busch And Toyota Win Race At Atlanta

Kyle Busch has raced well all weekend long so it should not come as any surprise that Kyle Busch and Toyota won at Atlanta yesterday. Busch had a very good car and since Joe Gibbs Racing switch to Toyota this year it has been another great move. Busch also made it to victory lane before Dale Earnhardt Jr the other big free agent last year, plus Busch use to drive for Hendrick Motorsports so this makes it more special for him.

Maybe though the big news was the after race interview where Tony Stewart who again had another top run blasted the Goodyear tire that he had to race on. Most people will not tell you publicly how bad they were, but Tony did and I’m sure Nascar will have a talk with him. At least he stood up and spoke the truth. In my mind nothing wrong with that.

Tony Stewart And The Nationwide Series

Tony Stewart won the nationwide Series race Monday in California and it made me think about a couple of things. First it was Tony’s second straight win and wonder if he wins a few more will anyone catch him in the point standings. Is this fair to other drivers who are trying to make the jump from the Nationwide series to the Sprint Series.

This arugment has long been a bone of contention for many years now. Should the Sprint Series driver be kept out of the Nationwide Series? Most people say yes and that maybe true, but I look at it this way. These are the same drivers they will need to beat on a regular basis when they get up to the Sprint Series. In reality they have a great chance to learn from the best and at the same time beat some of the best on the track in their series. I say keep them in it and it will make Nationwide Series drivers better.

Tony Stewart Wins Nationwide series Race, Favorite for 500

Tony Stewart took the lead late in the Nationwide Series race at Daytona International Speedway and was able to hold off friend Dale Earnhardt Jr and others to take the checkered flag and give Toyota a much needed boost considering what happened at Daytona last year for Toyota.

In my mind Stewart and Junior have to be the favorites for the Daytona 500, but my personal favorite would be mark martin. I would love to see Mark Martin win the race as he deserves to finally win here. He was so close last year and maybe this is his year you never know.

Tony Stewart vs Kurt Busch

Well you can tell that Nascar Cup racing is here again as the first feud has surfaced. Tony Stewart and Kurt Busch got into each other and both are pointing the finger at each other. This is somewhat surprising for Kurt Busch as he usually is a quiet type of guy. On the other hand this just gets Tony Stewart ready for the season to get rolling.

No fines were given out, but I’m sure they will come next week. With the Bud shootout tonight both drivers have been warned about no altercations during the race. Honestly do you think they will really listen to Nascar. When drivers get mad they do what they want. Some choose later paybacks while others want instant success against them. No matter what it starts the season off with a bang that’s for sure.
