Matt Kenseth Looking To Make A Move

After a third place finish at the All-Star Challenge it looks like Matt Kenseth is poised for a run for the chase. Kenseth has pretty much been real quiet this season as some races he has been good other races he would like to forget. The one thing that has killed his team is not being consistent.

When you race at this level you need to be more consistent if you want to be a guy who runs for championships. The teams that are consistent week in and week out always seem to run at the top. Kenseth needs to find that and he should be fine. In Nascar though it is a very fine line from being almost there and there. No matter what he will never give up and the one thing you can say about Matt Kenseth is once he gets behind the wheel he gives you everything he’s got. You really cannot ask for anymore than that.

Dakar Rally Cancelled Deemed To Dangerous

Robby Gordon couldn’t be too happy when he found out that they cancelled the Dakar Rally because of terrorist threats. According to officials they didn’t want to take a chance of anyone being a target. This is a shame that terrorists have to do things like this as this rally has been something people have looked forward too.

Gordon wanted to win this thing so bad that he would travel half way around the world just to run in it. He didn’t have to but that is the racer in Robby Gordon. Gordon loves racing and this race was special to him. I’m sure he is very disappointed in the decision and hopefully next year they can hold it, but who knows.

Could Carl Edwards Be Last Cup Driver Champion In The Busch/Nationwide Series

This has been a bone of contention for many Busch drivers and fans alike that Nextel Cup drivers should not drive in the Busch series. It takes spots from drivers who may make the field and trying to get their foothold in Busch racing. i will admit it does hurt small teams and in reality probably does stunt the growth of the series.

Many cup drivers do it to see how certain setups will handle at a track. many times they aren’t so much worried about winning a championship as learning something new that they never have before. With the new sponsor Nationwide coming in look for some changes to make the series their own and that could be less cup drivers or a different point system for them all together. It will be very interesting that’s for sure.

Kyle Busch Took The High Road

rpm_u_busch_gordon_412.jpg

Kyle Busch took the high road this past weekend at Lowes Motor Speedway and I’m glad he did. Several weeks back his teammates had a chance to help Busch and they let him hang out to dry. Busch pretty well then knew he was on his own until he left at the end of the season. Busch could have got his payback Saturday night, but choose to race clean and not wreck anyone to get a win.

This shows that Busch has matured a lot and will help him down the road. Sure Rick Hendrick talked to him on the radio about it, but the bottom line is if Busch wanted to he could have bumped Gordon and got away with it. He didn’t which showed me a lot. Busch will do well in his next ride. Look to see Kyle Busch around for a very long time.

Dario Finishes 17th Learns ALot

rpm_a_dfranchitti_275.jpg

Dario Franchitti learned that stock car racing is a whole other kind of animal all together. Things that you could do in open wheel racing is just not possible with stock cars. Dario finished 17th which really wasn’t bad considering he’s on a learning curve right now.

Franchitti will learn to be a better driver and the only way your going to get better is to drive in ARCA races and learn from other drivers. The experience in these races are invaluable and that is something you can’t really put a price on.
