With silly season in high gear a rumor that has been making the rounds is Mark Martin leaving DEI for Hendrick Motorsports. According to various sources Mark Martin will give it one last try to win a championship as Casey Mears will not be retained at Hendrick Motorsports and Martin will take his spot.

Now these are just rumors, but this move would not surprise me one bit. Martin has always wanted to win a championship and Mears is struggling right now so maybe a change of scenery is best for him. It sure helped Kyle Busch. Martin would fit in well at Hendrick Motorsports, but we will have to wait to see if this really does happen or not.

Hendrick Motorsports were suppose to be dominate this year and it has not worked out that way at all. In fact it has been anything but that. One track though could turn those fortunes around for Team Hendrick and For Jeff Gordon and he hopes it is Sonoma.

Dale Earnhardt Jr has been on a very long losing streak, but Junior’s fan can rejoice this morning as he won at Michigan International Speedway yesterday to end the streak. It was up to 76 races without a win and he did it in a way Junior rarely does it and that is with fuel mileage. Junior had to save fuel at every caution he could just to be able to make it all the way. He did it and no matter what anyone writes today a win is a win no matter how you may get it.

Kasey Kahne finished second as he probably is the hottest driver right now. Since the Shootout race at Lowes Motor Speedway Kahne has been hitting on all cylinders week after week. Look out for him in the Chase if he makes it as he is on a roll.

Nascar has suspended two officials all stemming from the 225 million dollar lawsuit that was filed eariler this week against Nascar. According to Nascar officials they did not know things were happening to this former employee. If grievances would have been brought to their attention they would have taken care of the problem right away.

I think you will see many more people suspended or brought down by this lawsuit. This is a black eye so far for Nascar and if more suspensions do follow this could be just the tip of the iceberg. I guess we will just have to see what the fallout will be in the end. Nascar is trying to clean this mess up as fast as possible to limit the damage that it already has caused.

Mauricia Grant an ex-nascar offical has alleged she was appalled at the way she was treated by others in the time she worked for Nascar. She contends the discrimination and bullying started from her hire until she was fired last October. In her suit she is seeking 225 million dollars from Nascar.

After looking over some of her claims if they are true it really would not surprise me one bit. She entered a world much different than what she probably thought it would be like. Now it does not make it right the way people treated her according to the lawsuit, but we will have to wait and see how it all plays out before I can really make a call on this one. I will follow on this one and keep you posted.

Kasey Kahne has now one three of the last four Nascar events as he won the race at Pocono Raceway today. Kahne who was given a penalty for a pit road violation and came back to win it as his team is doing everything right these days. He led 69 laps of the 200 as his car was very dominate today.

Brain Vickers was second and Denny Hamlin finished third. Kahne though was the guy to beat and no one had anything for him. Kahne and Kyle Busch has been the two hottest drivers in Nascar right now. Both drivers seem to have hit on something and their pit crews for the most part are also doing well. To win a championship you must have a team effort.

Kyle Busch has been dominate so far this season, but now he is going to take it to the dirt in the Old Spice Prelude To The Dream Charity race that Tony Stewart is putting on. This 30 lap shootout is on dirt and many Nascar regulars will be racing in this event. Some of those names will be Jeff Gordon, Carl Edwards, Kyle Busch, Tony Stewart, Jeff Burton, and Jimmie Johnson just to name a few. All of these drivers come out as it is for charity.

It also gives them a chance to play on the dirt which is where many of these drivers made a name for themselves. Most drivers start on dirt than move up to other classes so this is a chance for many drivers to go back to their roots plus it is for a good cause as well. Last years winner was Carl Edwards and he hopes to repeat this year.

Kyle Busch just keeps doing everything right it seems and Sunday his crew chief made all the right moves and Busch tamed the Monster Mile for his fourth win of the year. Dover has always been a tough race track, but today for Busch it did not seem to be much of a problem at all. One thing that really did help Busch was accidents that took out a lot of the good contenders. Guys like Tony Stewart and Dale Earnhardt Jr could not avoid them and finished out of the top ten.

Carl Edwards tried as hard as he could and managed to take second while Greg Biffle took third place. Busch who drove for Hendrick Motorsports, but was let go last year has found a home with Toyota and Joe Gibbs Racing. It looks like this could be the year of the Busch and his first name is Kyle.

Pretty soon they might have to change the Nationwide Series to the Gibbs Racing Series as Denny Hamlin gave Joe Gibbs Racing there ninth victory in the Nationwide Series as Denny Hamlin took the checkered flag at Dover. It seems as long as you have a car equipped by Joe Gibbs Racing in the Nationwide Series you have a great chance of winning.

The other big story of the day was budding superstar Joey Logano who has been compared to a lot of different drivers. He finished sixth as the 18 year old driver took everything in stride at his first Nationwide race. He was hoping for a top five finish, but I am sure he is happy with his finish in his first race.

Drug testing in Nascar is something right now that is a very hot subject and according to Nascar they have things in place to make sure they do not have a problem. Now that is real assuring , but in reality I doubt how effective it really is. Many drivers have been busted and Nascar really does not come forward with a lot of names or how bad the problem really is. This makes me wonder how bad it really is.

If you ask the drivers they are pretty much mumm about it as they know it really is a problem, but will not openly discuss it. They have their reasons for not talking and I guess I can respect that. I think drug problems are on the rise as injuries that drivers have do not heal quickly and drugs are the natural source for pain relief. I guess one day we will finally find out if there is a drug problem or not.
